Who is responsible
S.M.B Multi-Division inc. operates Music Battles. The person holding the role of Privacy Officer is responsible for privacy practices and may be contacted at support@musicbattles.net.
Information we may collect
- Account data: email address, username, display name, password hash, account status and verification information.
- Participation data: votes, battles viewed, XP, badges, plan, quotas and theme preferences.
- Technical and security data: IP address, browser/user agent, visitor identifier cookie, session data, access logs and security events.
- Communications: messages sent to support and account-related emails.
- Billing data, once payments are enabled: subscription status, transaction identifiers and billing metadata received from Stripe. We do not intend to store full payment-card numbers.
Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, record votes, enforce quotas, detect abuse, calculate rankings and rewards, personalize the interface, provide support, operate subscriptions and comply with legal obligations.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies or local identifiers may be used for sessions, authentication, anonymous-vote integrity, language and interface preferences. Optional analytics or marketing technologies, if later enabled, will be disclosed and handled according to applicable consent requirements.
Service providers and disclosures
Information may be processed by hosting, email, security, analytics and payment providers acting for us. Stripe may process payment and billing information when subscriptions are enabled. External links such as YouTube are governed by those providers’ own policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, the public or the service.
Storage, safeguards and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Information is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described, for security and dispute records, or as required by law, then deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent where applicable, request account deactivation or deletion, and ask questions or make a complaint about our practices. Certain records may be retained when legally or operationally required.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside Quebec or Canada. In those cases, the information may be subject to the laws of the place where it is processed, and we use contractual or other reasonable measures where appropriate.
